Soft tissue therapist
remedial massage therapist
My name is Jimmy Tran, a remedial massage and soft tissue therapist. I was awarded Bachelor of Tourism Management in 1999 and Graduate Diploma of Languages in 2006 from University of Canberra. While doing my first degree, I won a scholarship to go to China to study language and culture in Beijing Language & Culture University.
Right after having completed two degrees in University of Canberra, I suffered severe pain from sciatica and scoliosis. I remember someone said to me: ‘If your back is in line you are fine’. However, my back was not in line so I went to a chiropractor then a massage therapist. These therapists helped correct my posture and control my pain. William Shakespeare, a famous English dramatist said: ‘If you smile the world smiles with you. If you cry you cry alone’. In fact, these therapists helped bring smile back to me. This was the main reason why I have changed my career into remedial massage therapy – It could help to maintain my health so I could help others. Get in touch with the best remedial therapist in Canberra, Australia.
I went to CIT (Canberra Institutes of Technology) and started doing Certificate IV in Massage Therapy in 2007. I completed Diploma of Remedial Massage in 2010 and Advanced Diploma of Health Science (Soft Tissue Therapy) in 2013. Then I continued to develop my skills in Myofascial Dry Needling and Kinesio Taping. During my course of massage studies and my new career, I have helped myself, my relatives and friends and customers with headache, stress relief, muscle & joint pain, rehabilitation, poor posture and many more.
Now I am very proud of being joined in Optimal Health Centre (OHC) where our staff are friendly and our services are excellent.
The aim of a remedial massage is to find the cause of the discomfort or pain and help your
body to rebalance the muscle tension and bring you back to your optimal posture. Remedial
massage will involve deep tissue work on a single muscle or a group of muscles. This type
of massage includes techniques from relaxation, lymphatic and therapeutic massages.
Although rare, this technique may cause minor bruising, please let your therapist know if
you have a tendency to bruise easily or are on blood thinning (anti-clotting) medication. The
therapist will discuss with you which areas he or she may have time to massage depending
on your presenting condition and the time available.
In order to support you to get the care you need I am registered with over 30 health funds as well as HICAPS at the Optimal Health Centre Braddon.
